Initial visual development for Zynga's FarmVille 2. As the Principal Artist, this early work was done to set the overall visual style and look for the project in order to inspire both leadership and team members, and get buy-in as the project gained momentum. The task given to me was how to evolve the FarmVille franchise from the initial graphic look to a more sophisticated, 3D painterly feel. The examples shown here were thought of as "hero" characters. They were the initial set of characters and animals in the game, and this work served to inform and guide the entire style of the project afterwards, as well as other related spin-off projects.
